Sew By Row and Wrapping Up Cottages
I'm moving along for the month--keeping up pretty well. I've even decided to speed up one of my planned WIPs--more below!
WIPs
My original schedule for January was:
Week 1:Sampler of the Month (Country Cottage Needleworks)
Week 2: February Cottage of the Month (Country Cottage Needleworks)
Week 3: Sew by Row (Lori Holt)
Week 4: Spooky Hallow #5 (Little Stitcher Girl)
However, I had so much fun with Sew by Row, and it went so fast, that I decided I'm going to up my game and do one row a week! So for week 2, I've already done th3 third row of sewing machines...and since I was able to get so much done this weekend, I've even finished the fourth row of quilted stars.
For the rest of the month I'll follow this schedule:
Week 3:Sew by Row row 4; Spooky Hallow Pumpkin Patch
Week 4: Sew by Row row 5; Spooky Hallow Pumpkin Patch
FINISHES
I had a bittersweet finish this month. I completed my final cottage in Country Cottage Needleworks Cottage of the Month. I was so happy to end on this beautiful one. It was fairly simple, with just a few thread colors, but the pink made me very happy and very happy for Valentine's day coming up.
If you haven't started this series, Happy Little Stitch Shop is restarting their stitch along. I highly recommend this series. These are quick stitches that I can get done in a few weeknights of evening stitching for a few hours.
WHAT I'M WATCHING
This year I am working to make sure that I never have too many unfinished WIPs just sitting and collecting dust. I do have 3 charts that are kitted up right now that I haven't even put one stitch in, so I want to get at least a really good start on these 3 this year.
That said, I've had my eye on a sampler for a bit, and I think I'm going to go ahead and kit it up. Sweetheart Hill by Plum Street Samplers.
I am going to visit my local needlework shop this weekend to see if I can find the fabric and floss I want, as well as the chart. We'll see if I change my mind, but my thinking now is that I can make this a Valentine's Day start since it is on theme.
Well, that's all this week--I'm going to go get some stitching done now!
